Pregnancy Testing

Is your period late or you’re regularly feeling nauseous? These can be early pregnancy symptoms but they can also be caused by other medical issues too. At the Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic, we provide no-cost clinical pregnancy testing to determine if you’re pregnant. If you’ve been sexually active (with or without protection) and you’re experiencing early pregnancy symptoms, you need our pregnancy confirmation and consultation services.

How Does a pregnancy test work?

Pregnancy testing at Open Arms is administered by one of our medical professionals. The tests detect the presence of the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). The production of this hormone starts right after a fertilized egg attaches to the wall of the uterus and can usually be detected with a urine sample.

No-cost pregnancy testing

At Open Arms, we believe all women should receive no-cost clinical pregnancy testing.  At our clinic, a nurse will administer your test and you’ll receive the results the same day. There’s no cost to you so you have nothing to lose.

When is The best time to test?

We recommend you take a test 2 or 3 days after your missed period or 10 days after you think you may have gotten pregnant.  This amount of time should give your body enough time to build up a detectable amount of the hCG hormone.

What Should you do after a positive test result?

If you’ve taken a home pregnancy test, you’ll want to confirm the results. Open Arms offers a no-cost ultrasound to confirm a viable pregnancy. More than 20% of known pregnancies end in a natural miscarriage. You could still get a positive pregnancy test result days or even weeks after a miscarriage.

Open Arms cares about your pregnancy test results, but more importantly, we care about you. An unexpected pregnancy isn’t just about physical changes to your body. It’s also about your emotions and concerns. No one should have to face this alone. We promise all test results and conversations will remain strictly confidential. It’s your story and you should be the one to tell it when you’re ready. Schedule your appointment today and let’s begin working through it together.
